ST. BALDRICKS

This year, as we did last year, we invite you to experience the ways St. Baldrick’s, with your support, is making a difference in the battle to cure kids’ cancer. On behalf of the Foundation, American Haircuts, and Ri Ra Irish Pub, we would value your participation at our event.

Worldwide, 160,000 children are diagnosed with cancereach year and despite tremendous progress, cancer remains the #1 disease killer of children in the U.S. and Canada. The St. Baldrick’s Foundation raises funds for childhood cancer research by hosting worldwide head-shaving events, where volunteers shave their heads inpublic to show solidarity with the children who typically lose their hair during treatments. These “shavees” receive pledges of financial support from their friends and family. In turn their generous donations help fund life-saving childhood cancer research.

St. Baldrick’s events have provided more than $285 million in research grants to enable doctors and scientists at over 374 institutions to pursue the most promising new cures for childhood cancer and to help make clinical trials available to more children than ever. Since 2000, St. Baldrick’s has hosted more than 2,000 head-shaving events, shaving more than 107,000 heads in 29 countries and 50 U.S. states.

Since 2010 the American Haircuts’ St. Baldricks event at Ri Ra Irish Pub has raised nearly 1.3 million dollars with 2099 men and women braving a shave to help end childhood cancer. This year, our goal is 300 shavees and 200,000!!

We hope you can join us as a “shavee,” at Ri Ra Irish Pub on March 14, 2019. Each shavee collects donations from their friends and family to support the cause. Believe it or not, people will give generously to see you sacrifice your hair. If you can’t be a shavee, donate to a shavee or volunteer for our event!

If you have been touched by a child with cancer, then you know they lose not only their hair but precious years from their childhood, and sometimes their lives. Together we can support this vital research and give our children back their dreams.
