Barber’s Time Off Request
Unlike many barbershops, American Haircuts is proud to offer our team members Paid Time Off (PT) which may be used for personal, sick or vacation leaves.
Eligilibity: PTO is granted for full-time (30+ hours per week) employees is as follows: 1 week after the first full calendar year of employment, 2 weeks after the second full calendar year, and 3 weeks after the fifth full calendar year of employment.
TIME OFF RULES:
1) Requests for PTO (paid time off) must be presented at least two weeks in advance.
We will make every effort to grant requests, however, in some cases requests will be declined and you will be asked to schedule time off on more appropriate dates.
2) Time off is granted on a first-come, first served basis and two or more employees may not be off at the same time.
It is important BEFORE booking any travel or making firm plans, that you have a managers written approval for time off you submit.
3) Except in emergency situations and during PTO, PTO may be taken all at once or in increments, however, paid vacation time may consist of no more than one Saturday per year of PTO eligibility.
For example, if you are eligible for two weeks of vacation, you may take two of those days as Saturdays.
4) No time off will be granted during the week before Thanksgiving, the week before Christmas, or the week before back-to-school.
These are peak times for our industry, so working during those times will ensure you make more money and the shop is covered.
5) If employee is requesting time off that is not PTO, employee must find coverage for the shift before time off will be granted (except in emergency situations such as illness, death, etc.).
If you do not find coverage for non-PTO requests, your manager may decline the time off.
6) If submitting time off that spans between multiple pay periods, please submit a SEPARATE time off request for the days from each pay period.
7) Requests for time off may not be made for dates that have occurred in the past.
